Charge Amps, a leading European provider of EV charging solutions, appoints new Chief Commercial Officer

27/01/22

STOCKHOLM / LONDON / AMSTERDAM – 26.01.22: Charge Amps (www.chargeamps.com) – the Sweden-headquartered provider of smart and sustainable electric vehicle charging solutions for European homes, offices and public spaces – today announces the appointment of new Chief Commercial Officer, Joke van der Eerden, as part of the company’s ongoing European expansion.
The appointment of van der Eerden follows Charge Amps’ recent appointments of Country Directors for Norway, Spain, Portugal, Finland, and the United Kingdom and Ireland. Charge Amps is on a mission to facilitate the growing demand for charging infrastructure and solutions, as countries across Europe work towards the phasing out of internal combustion engine-vehicles.

Van der Eerden brings over 20 years of experience driving sales growth in Western European markets. Senior positions held across the EV and wider Automotive industries include her role as Director for Fleetsales and Leasing for Hyundai Motor Netherlands. More recently, she led the Benelux business for EVBox as Regional Director. In this role, she expanded partnerships in the Benelux region and implemented a strategic plan that led to the company’s order intake and revenue tripling within three years.

Joke van der Eerden, Chief Commercial Officer of Charge Amps, comments: “Having experienced all the ins and outs in this industry from Amsterdam – the ‘Silicon Valley of EV Charging’ – during the last few years, I am more than excited to join Charge Amps and to be a key part of its ongoing expansion throughout Europe. Charge Amps’ emphasis on premium product quality, its scalability, its culture of innovation, its true partner dedication, and, last but not least, the fantastic people at the company, make me join Charge Amps’ journey with great excitement and pleasure.”

Anders Bergtoft, CEO of Charge Amps, comments: “With the rise of energy technologies and with EV adoption rates soaring across Europe, this is a critical time for infrastructural evolution. Charge Amps is proud to be a leading provider of smart charging infrastructure across Europe. With Joke on board as Chief Commercial Officer, we are confident her extensive automotive and EV sales experience will enable us to become even better in bringing the highest-quality products to our customers across the continent, and to further strengthen our rapid European expansion.”

About Charge Amps’ products
Charge Amps’ products are produced in Sweden and have been developed to be durable in all climates and weather conditions, with its Charge Amps Halo charging station having the highest IP rating on the market. Made from recycled aluminium, its charging stations and accessories are recognised by their distinctively sleek and iconic design, which has been developed by former Koenigsegg Design Director, Joachim Nordwall.

Charge Amps’ charging stations are made to be user-friendly while maximising energy and cost-efficiency. This is made possible through:

  • Dynamic phase and load balancing – to ensure that users do not overload the available electrical capacity. This is controlled via Charge Amps’ smart power monitor, Amp Guard, which connects to the Charge Amps Cloud platform.
  • Smart charging – that allows users to schedule charging to when capacity is available and enables the lowest possible energy price. This can be controlled via the Charge Amps Cloud Platform and app, or by a user’s energy company, via a unique ‘Partner API’.

Charge Amps’ products are sold across Europe via distributors and partners such as electrical wholesalers, car dealers, charge point operators, and utility providers.
